Outdoor Wednesday

At the beginning of this week, we had a couple of very warm days again, and Nature keeps exploding with new colours every day. Then there was thunder and lightning and for now it’s cooler again… But here are some collages of flowery photos from my walk on Monday (just around the old cemetery close to where I live) : Horse Chestnut tree, Lilacs and Azaleas.

And things leaning against tree trunks:

A very old headstone of unusual shape (and inscription impossible to read); and some brand new tools.

  1. I like the handsome blooms in your photos and didn't realize the Horse Chestnut flowers are so pretty. Sad that the inscription wore off of the headstone. Time marches on.

    1. Time marches on indeed, and at this time of year it often seems to be marching on faster than ever! :)

  2. They are all so beautiful, you are surrounded by beauty! I love that Horse Chestnut. I don't think we have any here. Is that really a headstone by the tree? Old and sad.

    1. Ginny, I could see that there must once have been some kind of inscription on it. I think it's nice that they kept it. This cemetery was founded in the late 1800s.

  3. Good to see the flowers. They do provide a good show.

  4. Lilac is pretty much past it here, but the chestnut trees (of which Ludwigsburg has many) are at their best right now.
Here, the week started cold and wet, but yesterday afternoon, the sun came out and it turned warmer. Today is going to be very nice, but I'll be helping my sister taking down her kitchen cabinets, as she'll be having a new kitchen fitted from tomorrow onwards.
I would never have recognized the thing in the first picture leaning against a tree as a headstone, I thought it was another tree trunk.

    1. Meike, I go walking around this cemetery a lot, but I notice 'new' (or new old!) things every so often!

  5. I like the progression down the page from spring colours to the warmer colours of summer. I would like summer to come soon. Actually I'll lower the bar: I'd like summer to come.

    1. Graham, here summer seems to be constantly teasing us. Some days warm, other days back to chilly! But in nature there's not really any "going back" now, though. :)

    1. Sandra, maybe it was their coffee break :) I don't think they leave them like that over night.

  7. I like how you incorporated photos of trees as well as flowers in bloom. You are blessed with being able to walk and see what you see. Have a great week-end.

  8. I never get to see so many pretty photos in one place. I'm really jealous.
